How much do you know about NATS? You may know that it is the UK air traffic provider, guiding over 2.2 million flights safely and carrying some 200 million passengers a year but how much more do you know about the careers we offer and the state-of-the-art technology we use?

NATS is an exciting place to work and showing people the opportunities we offer and profiling the expertise and dedication of our people makes our annual Careers Open Day an important date in the diaries of my team. This year the date is Wednesday 9th December 2015, from 18:00 to 21:00

I believe happy and engaged people make the difference in any organisation or industry. We can only achieve our objectives at NATS, and meet the challenging targets we have set ourselves, by recruiting and developing the best people.

This is why NATS’ people benefit from top of the range training as well as access to the state-of-the-art training facilities and the advanced technology we use. They also benefit from competitive packages and a friendly working environment, including the opportunity to enjoy a wide variety of sports and social clubs; there is even an on-site gym at our larger sites and subsidised canteens.

It is our people who will shape the future of NATS and the aviation industry by setting new standards in safety, service and by providing value to all our customers. This is why it is so important to identify and recruit the best people for our business.

Possible career journey routes at NATS, for college leavers who have studied at BTEC ND/HNC/HND level, university students on a sandwich year and graduates can start through:

  • A structured development programme for school and college leavers on our Apprentice & Engineering Technician Scheme;
  • An Industrial Placement for second year university students; or
  • A two year direct-entry graduate programme.

This Open Day is not suitable for those wanting to become Air Traffic Controllers, who should visit our website and take the initial online assessments, if they meet the eligibility criteria.

All applicants wanting to visit our Open Day will be referenced with their place of study and will need to register with a valid email address when ordering tickets.

Whoever you are, whatever you want to do, we can help you make the most of your potential – and build an exceptional career. Hopefully we will see you at the Open Day and you can see for yourself what opportunities NATS provides under its early career schemes.
