Giving back update | Q2 2025/26
11 November 2025Following a strong start to the year, quarter two has built nicely on the momentum set earlier in 2025. Across all sites, our colleagues have continued to show real commitment to supporting local causes, giving their time, creativity and energy to make a meaningful difference in their communities.
Our newly formed site charity panels are now well underway, turning ideas into action and bringing colleagues together for a shared purpose at a local level. With activities such as CPR sessions, volunteering time, stalls and food deliveries already being supported, there’s a real desire to do more and increase our giving back contributions.
This quarter the Whitehall and India offices selected their site’s local cause to receive NATS support for 2-3 years. Homeless charity, The Connection at St. Martin’s in-the-fields, was selected by Whitehall office employees, and Loreta Convent School was picked by our Delhi colleagues – enabling young girls to receive an education.
Borrowing boost for teambuilding
Many of our employees support local causes, and team activity is always growing in this area. In order to support the expansion of this activity, we recently purchased a ‘library’ of equipment and tools for each centre to enable our colleagues to borrow what they need to carry-out their chosen activity.
Several teams have already made good use of the kit available; helping a local school with grounds keeping, painting a shed and fencing for Mencap, litter picking over lunch, and clearing land and creating hedging at a local industry museum to name just a few. We’re making things easier to make a positive impact in our communities.
Community Fund in action
Supporting teambuilding activities through our internal funding scheme, the Community Fund, has proven very popular this quarter, with several teams including New Airspace Users, Sustainability, Communications all receiving funding towards their activities. Most recently, the Hong Kong team supported their office’s chosen charity, Impact HK, by participating in a Kindness Walk, distributing food and supplies, raising awareness and building a community connection.
The Community Fund has also awarded over £17,000 to 24 causes including Boscombe Down Aviation Collection, youth football teams and the Volunteer Cadet Corps. Match funding was also awarded to causes such as SANE, Shine Cancer Support and Crohn’s and Colitis UK – as well as many more.
Give As You Earn is growing
Our payroll giving scheme, Give As You Earn, continues to be a simple yet effective way for colleagues to give back, with over £67,000 donated in Q2. These regular donations ensure the causes close to our hearts can continue their important work year-round.
Through GAYE, NATS employees can sign-up to donate to any UK-registered charity, HMRC recognised good cause or place of worship directly from their payslip.
Looking ahead…
The rest of 2025 promises even more opportunities to give back via teambuilding, fundraising, and several collections and seasonal campaigns. Together, we’re making a lasting difference in the communities where we live and work.
