Every Farnborough International Airshow offers a window into the future of aviation. This year, however, something felt different.

Farnborough International Airshow is a challenge unlike any other – and one we start preparing for almost as soon as the previous Airshow ends. But what does it take to manage?

Quarter three was full of moments that really brought to life how much our people care; not just about the roles they do, but about each other and our communities. Here we focus on the pride NATS takes in giving back and the ways our employees have engaged with others at a local and international level to make a significant difference.

At NATS, being a responsible business isn’t just a commitment or policy; it is a core part of who we are and how we work every day. Our latest Responsible Business Report makes this clear and outlines the significant progress we’ve made across the organisation over the past financial year (2024/25).

Colleagues from both CGI and NATS rolled up their sleeves to support FoodCycle, a national charity tackling food waste, food poverty, and loneliness. Together, they delivered two evenings of community engagement that went far beyond simply cooking.

Following a strong start to the year, quarter two has built nicely on the momentum set earlier in 2025. Across all sites, our colleagues have continued to show real commitment to supporting local causes, giving their time, creativity and energy to make a meaningful difference in their communities.

Quarter one of 2025 has paved the way for more opportunities to give back to the people and communities where we live and work, in the UK and overseas. This update shines a light on our increasing number of supported charities, as well as the internal Community Fund, payroll giving scheme and outreach provided by several teams to help good causes.

Throughout the year we host groups of young people from Hampshire and Dorset participating in the Blue Skies programme – part of the Jon Egging Trust. The students join us to develop skills such as leadership, collaboration, resilience and communications; as well as more about NATS and the aviation industry as a whole. In June the focus is on celebration, as the students attend their graduation ceremonies to mark the end of a busy year on the programme. We’re always proud to support the students and see how they’ve flourished through Blue Skies; and we’ve been able to support in other ways, too…
