Our employees have raised thousands of pounds this quarter for dozens of charities, both locally and nationally. From food bank drives and toy appeals to animal shelter appeals, raffles and bake sales; there’s been so much to celebrate and get involved with here at NATS.

To celebrate Career Development Month, our Young Professionals Network (YPN) hosted a ‘Knowledge Fair’ to showcase different parts of the business to our colleagues. The fair was an interactive learning opportunity that gave teams a chance to share their latest projects, connect with likeminded individuals and build their networks.

We are always looking for ways to contribute positively to the areas where we live and work and to help build strong, sustainable communities. It’s important to us not only as a responsible business, but to the many NATS employees who are actively involved in supporting charities, good causes, or groups in our local communities. Here’s a update on what we’ve been doing to give back this quarter.

As we take time to reflect on International Day of Charity, we also pause to be thankful for our corporate charity partnerships and the positive impact they have on our communities. Here, CEO of the Jon Egging Trust (JET), Dr Emma Egging, shares how joint-working has made a difference to the young people across Hampshire and Dorset supported by JET and NATS.

As the schools prepare to return for the next term, we also get ready to support the next academic year of the Jon Egging Trust’s Blue Skies programme. And what better time to reflect on the graduation ceremonies JET hosted over the summer months for the students who took part.

On Wednesday 7 August we hosted our Young Women in STEM event, where the theme was creativity, perseverance, and collaboration. We hear from the event leads on how the day went and why they got involved.

By the tranquil waters of Lee-on-Solent in Hampshire, CGI, NATS and Project Seagrass have completed an environmental, social and governance (ESG) activity as part of their relationship and delivery activities.

Once a series of clay pits for the neighbouring Bursledon Brickworks, the now beautiful oasis of the Swanwick Lakes Nature Reserve is abuzz with summer activity and successes from nature. The reserve, which sits alongside the NATS operational centre in Hampshire, is a partnership project between the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust and NATS. Last year we celebrated three decades of working together at the site. And now as we are enjoying summer, we celebrate so many other achievements.

As well as the training and upskilling we undertake as early careers graduates at NATS, we also get opportunities to hone our abilities in areas such as team working, collaboration and leadership. One of the key activities the cohort take part in each year is a charity fundraiser, and this year it was our turn to organise a month of fundraising events in June.
