This year may be one quite unlike any other with traffic levels much lower than normal, but orchestrating Santa’s multimillion stop flight plan is still no mean feat and work has been underway for several months, even if much of it has had to be done remotely.

To allay any anxiety that 2020 may have derailed normal operations, we thought you’d appreciate getting a behind the scenes view of how that process has gone so you can reassure anyone expecting a delivery on Christmas Eve.

Take a look

Elsewhere, you can generate and share your own personalised Christmas Eve flight plan with the return of our Elf Traffic Control System, and help Santa avoid flying into any airborne obstacles in our ever-addictive Santair game.

Let us know your high score – its 108 to beat here!

If you’ve got your own little elves at home with you over the Christmas holidays, we’ve also prepared an ATC themed festive activity pack filled with fun and educational ideas to keep even the most active brains occupied. From colouring to festive poems, there is plenty to enjoy – including stencils to make your very own paper plane snowflake!

Please share your little one’s creations with us on social media. We’d love to see how they get on.

Whatever life has thrown at you this year, from everyone at NATS we wish you a safe, happy and expeditious Christmas.

Here’s to a better 2021.
