Quarter one of 2025 has paved the way for more opportunities to give back to the people and communities where we live and work, in the UK and overseas. This update shines a light on our increasing number of supported charities, as well as the internal Community Fund, payroll giving scheme and outreach provided by several teams to help good causes.

Throughout the year we host groups of young people from Hampshire and Dorset participating in the Blue Skies programme – part of the Jon Egging Trust. The students join us to develop skills such as leadership, collaboration, resilience and communications; as well as more about NATS and the aviation industry as a whole. In June the focus is on celebration, as the students attend their graduation ceremonies to mark the end of a busy year on the programme. We’re always proud to support the students and see how they’ve flourished through Blue Skies; and we’ve been able to support in other ways, too…

In the last financial year, our commitment to giving back has remained a focal point; from supporting local communities to championing charitable causes, and empowering future generations through workplace opportunities, we’ve dedicated a significant amount of time, resources, and above all, passion, to making a difference.

Our employees have raised thousands of pounds this quarter for dozens of charities, both locally and nationally. From food bank drives and toy appeals to animal shelter appeals, raffles and bake sales; there’s been so much to celebrate and get involved with here at NATS.

We are always looking for ways to contribute positively to the areas where we live and work and to help build strong, sustainable communities. It’s important to us not only as a responsible business, but to the many NATS employees who are actively involved in supporting charities, good causes, or groups in our local communities. Students from Dorset and Hampshire schools recently visited the NATS air traffic control centre in Swanwick as part of a charitable initiative to inspire young people through a passion for aviation. The visits are part of NATS’ partnership with the Jon Egging Trust (JET).
