NATS was recently named in the 2023 Financial Times-Statista Climate Leaders list, for the third consecutive year. The prestigious list names just 500 European companies that have achieved the greatest reduction in emissions intensity since 2016. So, what have we been up to, and what are our future commitments as we move towards a decarbonised aviation industry? During 2013 we enabled savings of 59,000 tonnes of fuel, thereby avoiding 190,000 tonnes of CO2 from being released into the atmosphere. It was our best ever year ever in terms of savings.

Forecasts suggest that by 2035 there will be 14.4m flights a year across Europe, 50% more than in 2012. Europe’s airspace, and the way we manage it, will need to be very efficient to deal with that level of demand and maintain both safety and service.
